Externally Funded Programmes

We’re constantly striving to bring additional investment into our neighbourhoods. Officers work with multiply partner agencies to identify and attract external funding.

Last year we secured £400,000 of external funding which has enabled the team and the communities they work with to deliver hundreds of projects and activities.

In addition we support the following funding streams in Bolton:

Big Local

A million pound investment in Tonge with The Haulgh. The Big Local is a resident-led program, investing in Tonge with The Haulgh to make it an even better place to live.

Ambition for Ageing

From 2018 to 2020 our Community Investment Team was a Local Delivery Lead for the Greater Manchester Social Eating, Working Potential and Culture Champions programmes.

Foundation for the Future

The Foundation for the Future partnership offers volunteering opportunities abroad with the chance to work alongside established charities FAST Romania or Otalom (Heated Streets) in Hungary and ZNI in Slovenia. The partnership forms part of our drive to help boost the CVs and employability of local people whilst investing in our communities.

Partnerships

Our team of Community Development Officers, Housing Arts Officers and Peer Navigators work closely with other services and agencies to ensure communities are accessing the support they need, where they need it. We develop and sustain major partnerships for the benefit of our communities, including:

Octagon Theatre

9000 free or reduced price tickets distributed to our residents and community groups, and outreach projects across the borough

Bolton Wanderers Community Trust

Hundreds of local youngsters involved in positive activities across sport, education and volunteering through the Premier League Kicks initiative

Urban Outreach

Working in partnership to deliver a network of Storehouse Pantries, giving struggling residents in target areas access to food and other household essentials for a small weekly subscription.

And many other partners

Including Bolton Council, Bolton CVS, BRASS, BYPHSS, Bolton Community Homes, Endeavour, local businesses, schools and faith groups and more.
