Donating or recycling furniture with Emmaus

Emmaus logo

We work in partnership with Emmaus, a registered charity that helps people who were previously homeless.

Emmaus provide somewhere to live, work, and gain new skills through a furniture recycling and re-use service.

They collect items that you no longer want or that are left behind in Bolton at Home properties so they can be re-used rather than thrown away.

These items are checked, cleaned, and tested before being offered by Emmaus at affordable prices in their Bolton store.

This partnership not only helps reduce items going into landfill but also supports Emmaus to provide low cost and affordable furniture packages to Bolton at Home customers.

For more information about Emmaus' Bolton store and its opening times, visit www.emmaus.org.uk/bolton.

How to donate goods to Emmaus

If you have any unwanted goods, call Emmaus on 01204 398056 and they'll arrange for a free collection.

Once recycled, a 15% discount is offered to Bolton at Home tenants.

You can find out what items they will accept on their website at https://emmaus.org.uk/bolton/items-we-accept/ (opens in a new window).

Please note: upholstered goods need a current BS fire label. Unfortunately, gas cookers cannot be collected by Emmaus.

We also work in partnership with Bolton Community Furniture Store (BCFS).

BCFS (Bolton Community Furniture Store) has been a registered charity since 1989 and was previously known as Bolton Community Transport & Furniture Services (BCTFS).

The charity focuses fully on improving our environment by reusing furniture, electrical goods, and paint that would otherwise go to waste.

Working in close partnership with other local organisations, they collect/resell used furniture and refurbish electrical goods.
