Bolton’s Fund COVID response: £250,000 for food and other essentials

Grants totalling £250,000 are available through Bolton’s Fund for groups helping residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to access food and other essentials.
Bolton’s Fund is a voluntary sector grants programme delivered by Bolton Council, NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group, Bolton at Home and Bolton CVS.
The latest round of funding aims to support foodbanks, community kitchens and similar organisations working to support those in most need as a result of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
Grant applications will fall into four categories depending on the amount being requested with funds up to £1,500, up to £5,000, £10,000 to £25,000 and £25,000 to £50,000 being made available.
All Bolton’s Fund grant decisions are made by a panel of independent volunteer assessors from across the community.
More information and details of how to apply are available on the Bolton CVS website here: https://www.boltoncvs.org.uk/boltons-fund-0.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Cllr Nadim Muslim, said:
“Bolton’s Fund is designed to be flexible and award grants based on the changing needs and priorities of the community.
“Lockdown and local restrictions have impacted on the economy and placed families and individuals under financial pressure.
“In Bolton we are lucky to have many community organisations which can help people who are struggling to access essentials and put food on their table during the COVID pandemic.
“On behalf of all the Bolton’s Fund partners, we’re delighted to make funding available to help these groups and local residents most in need.”
