#HomesAtTheHeart of social and economic recovery

COVID-19 and the social and economic impact of the pandemic further highlights the need for quality affordable homes and, for many people, support to live in them.
Bolton at Home, Arcon Housing Association (www.arcon.org.uk) and other members of the Greater Manchester Housing Providers partnership ((https://gmhousing.co.uk) continue to support the #HomesAtTheHeart campaign.
The campaign is led by the National Housing Federation (www.housing.org.uk) and is asking Government to put quality affordable housing at the heart of plans for social and economic recovery from the pandemic, highlighting that:
- public investment in housing gives back to the economy;
- building and improving homes creates jobs and brings huge environmental benefit;
- supporting people to live well in their homes improves health and wellbeing, and saves the NHS;
- social housing is at the centre of thriving communities.
Ahead of the Chancellor’s one-year Spending Review announcement on 25 November, the social housing sector continues to promote the importance of national investment in new and existing social housing and services to boost the economy, create jobs and improve people’s lives when our nation needs it the most.
The Homes at the Heart campaign launched four months ago and ran six themed weeks of action.
