It's good to talk

time to talk day
“The challenges we’ve all faced over the last 12 months have reiterated the importance of wellbeing.
“Due to life events outside of Covid (serious injuries sustained in a bike accident and the loss of my dad), I know my mental wellbeing has been on something of an extreme rollercoaster ride since February 2020 with my mood dipping very low on a couple of occasions.

“Thanks to a prompt by a friend and colleague, I asked for help.

“Guided and supported by a professional, my mental wellbeing has greatly improved and I’m in a good place with resilience building.

“Asking for help is possibly one of the bravest things anyone can do and that journey to improved wellbeing may start from talking with a friend or colleague.”

Colin Hughes
(Now retired, Colin was previously our Neighbourhood Services Team Leader).

Why not choose today to have a small conversation about mental health? What about asking a family member, friend or colleague how their day’s going? Or perhaps take a moment to tune into how you’re feeling? It has the power to make a big difference.
