Our staff help to plant 100 trees in Breightmet (with Manchester City of Trees)

Last week, some of our staff helped to plant 100 trees off Winster Drive, Breightmet during a morning out with partners from City of Trees (pictures below).

The activity forms part of City of Trees’ goal to plant a tree for every person in Greater Manchester- of which there are almost three million- and they’ve managed a staggering 750,000 trees so far.

As well creating a richer green area for the community, these trees will:

  • improve air quality,
  • alleviate the risk of flooding,
  • lock-up carbon,
  • boost wellbeing: making us healthier and happier,
  • and create habitats for wildlife.

If you’re curious, City of Trees is a Manchester-based charity passionate about planting trees, transforming woodland, and connecting people to nature.
