Your voice is crucial: here's what you can expect when you report antisocial behaviour to us

Your voice is crucial. When your report an antisocial behaviour issue to us, this is what you can expect:

Professional investigation:

Our Neighbourhood Safety and Enforcement Service records, assesses, and prioritises every report as appropriate.

We support customers while working to resolve the issues, partnering with other agencies and service where needed.

Defining and responding to unacceptable acts:

Our Antisocial Behaviour and Enforcement Policy, detailed on our website, guides our approach on what we will follow-up and what we won’t. You’ll find it here: www.boltonathome.org.uk/tackling-asb.

Your help is key:

Your proactive role in recording and supplying us with evidence empowers our ability to take effective action against antisocial behaviour and tenancy breaches.

When you witness or experience antisocial behaviour, document the details. We’ll show you how, which includes capturing dates, times, locations, and other appropriate information. Combing our records strengthens our case building against the perpetrator.

If you’re concerned about potential repercussions, rest assured that we treat your reports with confidentiality.

Tackling noise complaints, which are the most frequent type of report we get:

We investigate noise complaints thoroughly and consider the threshold for antisocial behaviour. A noise complaint would constitute antisocial behaviour if it’s persistent and at a level that couldn’t be considered normal household noise.

Where situations involve customers with support needs or disabilities, we’re extra sensitive.

Early resolution methods such as letters and mediation may be appropriate before escalation.

Keeping you informed:

While specific circumstances and privacy considerations may restrict what we can say and when at certain times, we promise to keep you informed as much as we can.

If you’re experiencing any issues with antisocial behaviour, or have any concerns about how we’re dealing with these issues, please phone us on 01204 328000, email us at info@boltonathome.org.uk, or get more info at www.boltonathome.org.uk/tackling-asb.
