Bolton at Home procurement strategy covers both procurement and contract management, the following 5 key objectives help us with the delivery of our strategy:

  • Thinking more strategically about what we buy
  • Being more consistent and compliant in how we buy
  • Delivering additional social, economic and environmental value when we buy
  • Managing our supply chain more effectively after we buy
  • Developing staff and improving skills

As a key link in our supplier chain, as a potential or existing supplier, you can help us to deliver our procurement strategy and meet these objectives.

Procurement within Bolton at Home

Each year we spend approximately £50m with suppliers on delivering goods, services or works in the borough of Bolton, our local area.

As a public authority, we need to ensure that we make the best use of public funds and are transparent and fair in procuring and awarding contracts.  Each pound that we spend must:

  • deliver the maximum value for money
  • contribute to our strategic objectives
  • deliver additional benefits to our customers and communities
  • comply with public procurement legislation and our own procurement rules

What we look for in suppliers

  • Financial, commercial and technical capability to meet our business requirements
  • Compliance with relevant standard and legislation including Equalities, Health and Safety and Environmental Sustainability
  • Commitment to supporting delivery of our social, economic and environmental strategies
